Taiwan's Only Apple-Certified App Competition: Feng Chia University Captures 6 of 8 Awards at Final Round, Setting an 11-Year Best Record

The Taiwan Final of the "11th Mobile Application Innovation Contest (MAIC)" was held on July 2 at the Chiway NTU Conference Center. Feng Chia University made history at this year's competition, with 6 teams advancing to the final round and capturing 6 of the 8 available awards—including the top honor, the Most Innovative Award, one Second Prize, and four Third Prizes—setting the best record Feng Chia has achieved in the competition's 11-year history.

FCU and Uni-President Asset Management Mark Fourth Consecutive Year of Industry-Academia Collaboration in Investment Fund Management Course

The College of Finance at Feng Chia University (FCU) and Uni-President Asset Management Corp. have continued their industry-academia partnership for a fourth consecutive year through the jointly offered Investment Fund Management course. The semester-end project presentation was held on June 9. The course was co-designed by Yung-Kuan Tung, President of Uni-President Asset Management, and Associate Professor Tsung-Ju Lee of FCU’s Department of Finance, attracting 54 students from 16 different departments and programs across the University. This year, President Securities Corporation joined the program for the first time to introduce overseas entrusted trading services, helping students develop a global perspective on asset allocation and international investing.

Feng Chia University and IEET Bring EUR-ACE® Connect Recognition of Three College of Information and Electrical Engineering Departments to the International Stage

The "2026 EUR-ACE Connect," a premier global forum on engineering education, was held in Istanbul on June 4–5, bringing together engineering education experts, higher education leaders, and accreditation agency representatives from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East to explore quality assurance in engineering education, the evolution of international accreditation, and trends in talent development. Dean Tsu-Wang Shen of Feng Chia University's College of Information and Electrical Engineering attended the conference on behalf of the University, sharing practical experiences in advancing Outcome-Based Education and pursuing international accreditation, while actively expanding the University's global collaborative network.

Feng Chia Cross-Institutional Team Advances to National Top Four at 2026 WildBot Robotics Challenge

The "2026 WildBot Robotics Challenge," commissioned by the Administration for Digital Industries of the Ministry of Digital Affairs and organized by the Taiwan Industry-Academia Innovation Association, was held on May 27–28 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. The competition brought together more than 20 elite teams from institutions including National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. "SparrowTen," a cross-institutional team formed by Feng Chia University students and alumni, advanced through every round to claim fourth place nationally, demonstrating the outstanding capabilities of Feng Chia's students and faculty.

More outstanding international recognition arrived on May 26 for Feng Chia University's Mr. He Yiwu Chair Professor Chin-Chen Chang. In recognition of his pioneering contributions at the intersection of information security, cryptography, and artificial intelligence, Professor Chang has been formally awarded the distinction of AAIS Fellow—the highest honor conferred by the International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS).

Over 100 Teams Compete, Top 50 Advance to the Final! 2026 Feng Chia University Virtuous Innovation Competition Showcases Outstanding Innovation

The finals of the 2026 Feng Chia University Virtuosi Innovation Competition were held on May 22, reaching a new milestone in participation. This year’s competition attracted 148 teams, nearly 600 students, and more than 80 faculty advisors, showcasing the strong interdisciplinary innovation and hands-on development capabilities of Feng Chia University. Following an intense preliminary round, 50 outstanding teams advanced to the finals to present their projects, while an additional 33 teams received Potential Awards. The event earned widespread recognition from representatives of industry, government, academia, and research sectors.

AI-Powered Industrial Safety: FCU Communications Engineering Team Wins Award at Best AI Awards 2026

The Department of Communications Engineering at Feng Chia University delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Best AI Awards, one of Taiwan’s premier AI innovation competitions. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Ang-Hsun Tsai and Assistant Professor Chi-Han Chen, the student team “Kamehameha Engineering”—comprised of Wen-Hsun Yang, Po-Lun Chou, Yi-Lin Tu, and Yi-Sheng Hung—stood out among more than 80 finalist teams in the Student AI Applications Category and received the Merit Award. Their achievement highlights FCU’s strength in applying cutting-edge technologies to real-world industrial safety challenges.

To help faculty members and students stay ahead of emerging technology trends, the College of Information and Electrical Engineering at Feng Chia University and the Motech Smart City 5G Laboratory jointly hosted a special lecture titled “6G and AI: Why? What? and How?” on May 5, with support from the University’s 5G Faculty Professional Development Community. The event featured Li-Chun Wang, Dean of the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), as the keynote speaker.

FCU Information Engineering Student Wins Silver Medal in Regional Cloud Computing Competition, Advances to National Finals

At the 56th National Skills Competition – Central Taiwan Regional Competition, organized by the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor and held at Overseas Chinese University on March 26–27, Chih-Hsin Chen from the Department of Information Engineering at Feng Chia University distinguished herself in the Cloud Computing category and won second place, earning a place in the National Skills Competition to be held this July.
