The results of the 2026 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Swift Student Challenge—a global competition that draws top student developers from around the world—have recently been announced. Demonstrating its long‑standing commitment to programming education, Feng Chia University once again delivered outstanding results.

Feng Chia University Shines at the National Electronic Design Creativity Competition, Sweeping the Top Three Places in the App Category and Winning Double Championships

Teams from Feng Chia University delivered an outstanding performance at the 22nd National Electronic Design Creativity Competition 2026, bringing home a total of ten awards. Most notably, Feng Chia students achieved a clean sweep of first, second, and third place in the Smart Big Data and Mobile App Category of the university division. In the Information and Communications Technology Category, Feng Chia teams also excelled, winning first place, third place, and several honorable mentions. These achievements demonstrated students’ ability to transform expertise in electronics, communications, and information technology into innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

Inaugural U-Impact Freshman Anchor Course Competition Showcases Practical Innovation from 21 Interdisciplinary Teams

On March 27, Feng Chia University hosted its inaugural U-Impact Sustainability Action Challenge, the capstone competition of the freshman Anchor Course program, at Gongshan Hall. A total of 21 interdisciplinary freshman teams participated, each selected as the most promising representative from departmental project-based learning courses.

Taiwan’s Only Honorable Mention Winner: Feng Chia University Information Engineering Team Recognized at ETH Zürich International Hackathon

The HACK-4-SAGES Astrobiology Digital Twins International Hackathon, a global competition organized by the prestigious ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich), concluded successfully on March 13. Under the guidance of Professor Huai-Chung Hsu from the Department of Information Engineering at Feng Chia University, four students formed a team to compete in this highly selective international event: Hong-Yu Chou, President of AI Club; Ping-Yu Chen, President of the Hacker Club; and club officers Ming-Yu Lin and Yu-Chieh Cheng.

Among Taiwan’s First: Feng Chia University’s Electronic Engineering, Automatic Control Engineering, and Communications Engineering Programs Earn ENAEE European Engineering Accreditation

Following its nationwide lead in 2008, when all engineering departments at Feng Chia University successfully obtained IEET international accreditation, the University has once again made history in 2026. According to official information released by ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education), the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, Department of Communications Engineering, and Department of Electronic Engineering at Feng Chia University have taken the national lead in successfully earning ENAEE accreditation. These departments are now among the first in Taiwan—and currently the only three nationwide—to be awarded the EUR‑ACE® European Quality Label for Engineering Education.

The promotions of faculty members for the first semester of Academic Year 2025–2026 have been officially approved by the Ministry of Education. A total of 18 faculty members at Feng Chia University have successfully achieved promotion.

Vice President Bi‑khim Hsiao Meets Winners of the Coretronic Thesis Award Feng Chia University Students and Faculty Receive Top Honor in “AI Technology Development” Category

Vice President Bi‑khim Hsiao met with the award‑winning master’s and doctoral students of the 18th Coretronic Thesis Award 2025 at the Presidential Office on the morning of December 4. Among nearly a thousand submitted papers, Chui‑Hong Chiu, a master’s student from the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, Feng Chia University, stood out with his AI model capable of accurately predicting road conditions, earning the Top Honor in the Master’s Group – AI Technology Development and Applications category.

Taiwan Retains AsiaSkills Title: FCU’s Lin Chen-Yi Takes Cloud Computing Bronze

Taiwan defended its overall title at the 2025 AsiaSkills Competition, which concluded Nov. 30. Among the team's five youth bronze medals, Feng Chia University alumnus Lin Chen-Yi secured a podium finish in Cloud Computing, overcoming intense pressure from top rivals like Japan and Korea.
